Shabana midfielder Edwin Jumba is confident that the Glamour Boys can secure a positive result when they take on AFC Leopards in theoir 26/27 SportPesa League clash at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
The Kisii-based side will be looking to continue their promising start to the 2026/27 campaign when they face Ingwe in a match scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM EAT.
Shabana have collected four points from their opening two matches, winning one and drawing the other, and Jumba believes the team is well prepared to take on one of the league’s established sides.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, the midfielder said the team’s preparations had gone well and expressed confidence that they could return home with maximum points.
“We have had good training, and we are ready to face our opponents. We have high expectations that we will return home with a win,” Jumba said.
The midfielder also called on Shabana supporters to turn up in large numbers at Nyayo National Stadium, promising an entertaining performance as the team looks to maintain its positive start to the season.
“I urge our fans to show up in large numbers. We will give them a good match, and they should expect positive results from us,” he added.
Despite his optimism, Jumba acknowledged that the match would be a difficult test for Shabana, given AFC Leopards’ stature and ambitions in the Kenyan top flight.

The midfielder expects a competitive encounter between two sides with passionate fan bases and believes his teammates must be ready for the challenge.
“It won’t be an easy match. It will be hard because they are also a big team, just like us, so it is going to be a tough match,” he said.
Shabana head coach Ahmed Fathi also expressed confidence in his team’s readiness, revealing that the technical bench had spent the week addressing shortcomings identified in their previous two matches.
The Egyptian tactician believes the preparations have helped the players improve in key areas ahead of what he expects to be an entertaining contest.
“We have had very good preparations this week, and we have tried to solve all the problems we encountered in our last game. We are ready, and we are going for a big clash,” Fathi said.

“This is the kind of game that makes you feel the football community when you face a team with a big following. It is a very good clash, and it looks like it is going to be entertaining. We are ready for it,” he added.
Fathi further stressed that Shabana approach every fixture with the intention of winning, insisting that the team has the ability to compete and that its preparations are always geared towards collecting maximum points.
“Every game, we go in with the objective of winning. We prepare ourselves to win, we have the ability to win, and we make our preparations to win. We do our best to win,” the coach stated.
The encounter presents Shabana with an opportunity to build on their early-season form, but they will need to be at their best against an AFC Leopards side eager to collect points.
