Coaches Preview

Geoffrey “Solo” Oduor (Harambee Starlets Head Coach)

With Starlets holding a massive advantage, Oduor remains focused on maintaining high standards for the return leg:

“We must give every player in camp a chance to play. In the next match you will see a completely different squad. We will continue creating scoring chances and maintaining our high pace.”

Chris Yip-Au (Seychelles Head Coach):

Acknowledging the difficulties faced in the first leg due to weather conditions and fatigue, Yip-Au noted:

“We started the first half well. The second half was more about fitness and the weather. A lot of players were going down with cramps. In Seychelles, the temperature is around 30 degrees, while Nairobi is a bit colder, and that difference contributed to the cramps.”

The winner of this two-legged tie will advance to the next round of the CAF African qualifiers to face either Malawi or Zimbabwe.

The return leg between the two Southern African sides is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Harare, where Zimbabwe will host Malawi as they attempt to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit to decide who moves forward.
