Atlético Madrid welcome Manchester United for a Champions League league-phase clash between two clubs heading into the contest in very different domestic form.

Diego Simeone’s Atlético are enjoying a strong run of results, having won four consecutive matches in all competitions, including a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the Madrid derby.

Man United, meanwhile, are searching for a response after failing to win any of their four matches since opening their European campaign with a 4-0 victory over Sabah.

For Atlético, this is an opportunity to recover from their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the opening Champions League round.
