Kenya Shujaa bounced back to winning ways, defeating Scotland 22-0 as Safari 7s 2026 entered its second day on Saturday morning at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The three-day tournament kicked off on Friday afternoon, but defending champions Shujaa got their title defence off to a shaky start after being held to a 21-21 draw by SportPesa Fast Forward 7s in their Group A opener.
As a result, Kevin Wambua’s charges needed a response against Scotland, who had narrowly won 17-15 to Uganda 7s on Friday.

Victor Mola opened the scoring after finding a gap in the visitors’ defence and racing over for the opening five points, although the conversion was missed.
Shujaa dominated the proceedings and Nygel Amaitsa managed to beat his markers and made a good run between the sticks to ensure Shujaa went at halftime leading 10-0 as Rayvon Ambale could not still get his conversion.
The second half mirrored the opening period, with Shujaa quick to widen the gap. After missing his earlier conversion attempts, Ambale delivered a superb offload to Samwel Asati on the left wing.
Asati shrugged off the defence and powered over under the posts, allowing Ambale to add the extras this time.
Mola then sealed the victory with his second try of the day. Receiving a well-timed pass on the left, he broke through the Scottish defence to complete Shujaa’s 22-0 triumph, although Ambale once again missed the conversion.

Shujaa will now look to wrap up the group stage on a high when they face Uganda 7s in their final match of the day.
Meanwhile, Scotland will be chasing their second win of the tournament when they take on SportPesa Fast Forward, who also registered their first victory by beating Uganda.
Elsewhere, Kenya Morans underlined their title ambitions with a second consecutive pool-stage win after dismantling Wonder 7s 40-12.
The Morans have now recorded two victories, having defeated GEL Squad 7s 38-17 on Friday.
In the women’s category, defending champions Kenya Lionesses made it two wins from two after thrashing South African side TUKS 43-0. Uganda Lady Cranes also secured their second victory in the round-robin competition, narrowly edging Kenya Shibli 17-14.
