Kabras Sugar RFC and Menengai Oilers will battle for the 2026 Dala 7s Main Cup title after both sides came through their respective semi-finals on Sunday to book their places in the final of the second leg of the SportPesa National Sevens Circuit in Kisumu.
For Kabras, it will be a second consecutive appearance in a National Sevens Circuit final after another composed display saw them overcome Kenya Harlequin 19-10 in an entertaining encounter.
Menengai Oilers, on the other hand, continued their impressive run by brushing aside a resilient Mwamba RFC 22-5 to set up a highly anticipated clash between two of Kenya’s most consistent sevens outfits.

Kabras once again relied on their clinical finishing and defensive discipline to get the job done against Quins.
The Sugarmen wasted little time stamping their authority on the contest as Kenya Under-20 international Michael Lukusi crossed over for the opening try after a well-worked attacking move. Although the conversion sailed wide, Kabras had the early advantage and immediately piled pressure on their opponents.
Moments later, Jackson Siketa nearly doubled the lead after chasing down his own grubber kick, but the Quins cover defence recovered just in time to deny what looked like a certain score.
Kabras eventually found the breakthrough they were searching for through the electric Rayvon Ambale. The speedster collected possession deep inside his own half before producing dazzling footwork to beat the first defender and then accelerating on a blistering 50-metre run to dive over beneath the posts. Lukusi added the extras as Kabras stretched their lead to 12-0.
Kenya Harlequin responded before the halftime whistle through Ramadhan Masete, who finished off a sustained period of pressure to reduce the deficit. Patrick Wainaina’s conversion attempt drifted wide, leaving Kabras with a 12-5 advantage at the break.
The second half saw Kabras tighten their grip on the contest. Ambale completed his brace after another incisive attacking move, slicing through the Quins defence before touching down. Kantona calmly slotted the conversion to hand the Sugarmen a comfortable 19-5 cushion.
To their credit, Quins refused to surrender. New signing James Otundo crashed over near the corner following several powerful phases close to the try line. However, the missed conversion meant the Nairobi side still trailed by nine points.
Kabras then showcased the defensive resilience that has defined their tournament campaign, repeatedly forcing turnovers at the breakdown and denying Quins any clear route back into the contest.
Their disciplined defensive line held firm until the final whistle, sealing a deserved 19-10 victory and moving them within one win of lifting a second Dala 7s crown.
In the other semi-final, Menengai Oilers produced another polished performance to dispatch Mwamba RFC 22-5. The Nakuru-based side dominated possession, won the territorial battle and capitalised on their scoring opportunities, while limiting Mwamba to a solitary try.
Kabras will be aiming to go one better after reaching back-to-back circuit finals, while Menengai Oilers will be looking to spoil the party and claim the Kisumu crown in what is expected to be a thrilling finale at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium.
In the women’s competition, defending Prinsloo 7s champions Mwamba Ladies continued their impressive run by booking a place in the Main Cup final, where they will face Kenya Harlequin Ladies.
The two in-form sides have looked dominant throughout the tournament and will now battle for the Dala 7s women’s crown in what promises to be an entertaining finale. Mwamba will be chasing back-to-back National Sevens Circuit titles after their triumph in Nakuru, while Quins will be aiming to halt their momentum and lift the trophy in Kisumu.
