Petrovac vs Zalgiris

This will be the first of Thursday’s Midweek Jackpot fixtures, with OFK Petrovac hosting Lithuanian side FK Zalgiris in the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round.

The first-leg encounter kicks off at 9:45pm East Africa Time (EAT) at the Podgorica City Stadium in Montenegro.

The Montenegrin hosts enter this fixture with mixed home form, having won only two of their last five home competitive matches, alongside two draws and a loss.

Their recent pre-season friendlies have also seen them struggle for goals, concluding with a tight 1-0 loss to Mladost and a 0-0 draw against Macva.

Zalgiris arrives with the advantage of match fitness, as their domestic league is already in full swing.

They head into this fixture on the back of a convincing 3-0 league victory, inspired by star forward Nikola Petkovic.

However, their poor away record of just one win in their last six road trips could prove a major obstacle.

NSI Runavik vs Hamrun Spartans FC

On the same day, NSI Runavik from the Faroe Islands hosts Maltese champions Hamrun Spartans FC in the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round.

The highly anticipated first-leg tie is scheduled to kick off at 9:45pm at Djupumvra Stadium in Klaksvík.

The hosts, NSI Runavik, head into the tie with a significant advantage, as their domestic league is already underway.

They have turned their home ground into a fortress, winning six of their last 10 matches while averaging more than two goals per game.

Meanwhile,Hamrun Spartans must shake off the effects of a nearly two-month break without competitive football.

While the Maltese side is well-rested, a lack of match sharpness means they are likely to adopt a disciplined defensive approach to keep the tie alive.

They will look to experienced international Joseph Mbong to spark counter-attacks and secure a crucial away goal before the return leg.
