Record FIFA World Cup winners Brazil are keen to get their first win of the 2026 edition when they take on Haiti early Friday morning in Philadelphia.
Brazil were frustrated in a 1-1 draw against Morocco in their opening match in Group C, leaving them in third place with one point. Vinicius Junior scored a stunning equalizer to rescue the Brazilian ship.
Haiti, who are returning to the World Cup after a 52-year absence, narrowly lost 1-0 to Scotland in their opening Group game. The result leaves them bottom of the standings with this gargantuan task lying in wait.
Brazil are undoubtedly miles ahead of their opponents as they are currently ranked sixth globally by FIFA, while Haiti are in 83rd place ahead of the clash.
The five-time World Cup winners have not lifted the title since 2002, and the expectations continue to skyrocket with the caliber of players in the national team. Carlo Ancelotti maintains his side can still go all the way despite the shaky start in the tournament.

The Selecao are the only team to appear in every World Cup since 1930. A record 22 consecutive tournaments but have failed to make it past the quarterfinals in four of the last five editions.

Ancelotti is not expected to make any changes to the side that started against Morocco, with Alisson in goal for the Selecao.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Maghalaes and Marquinhos were solid in defense and will retain their starting roles at centre back. Veteran Casemiro and Bruno Guimaraes will also start in midfield.

Igor Thiago struggled a little up front for Brazil and he may be the only change made ahead of the game. Mattheus Cunha came off the bench and had an immediate impact – the Manchester United attacker will be brought into the starting XI.
Haiti’s starting lineup against Scotland was their strongest possible XI and they are expected to field the exact same players here.

Despite the stalemate, Brazil are unbeaten in their last four outings. Their last one came in a 2-1 friendly loss to France prior to the tournament.
They have also scored in every game they have played since a 1-0 defeat to Bolivia last September.

These countries have played each other three times in their history and Haiti have been humiliated each time. Brazil have won all three matches, scoring 22 times and conceding just twice.
