Al-Nassr host bitter rivals Al-Hilal at Al-Awwal Park on Tuesday night in what could prove to be the defining fixture in this season’s Saudi Pro League title race.
With just a handful of matches left before the curtain falls on the campaign, the Riyadh derby carries enormous significance as both sides continue their battle for domestic supremacy.
Al-Nassr head into the contest sitting at the summit of the table after an outstanding league campaign that has seen them dominate most opponents with aggressive attacking football and ruthless finishing in the final third.
Jorge Jesus’s men have collected 82 points from 32 matches and boast one of the strongest home records in the division, winning 14 of their 15 league games at Al-Awwal Park.
Their ability to control matches through possession while quickly transitioning into attack has made them a difficult side to contain throughout the season.

The hosts responded strongly after their defeat to Al-Qadsiah by dispatching Al Shabab 4-2 in an entertaining encounter. Joao Felix was the standout performer with a clinical hat-trick, while Cristiano Ronaldo once again showed his experience in front of goal by getting on the scoresheet.
With the title now within touching distance, Al-Nassr will be determined to settle scores against an Al-Hilal side that beat them 3-1 earlier in the campaign.
Al-Hilal, however, remain firmly in the title conversation and arrive in confident mood after lifting the King’s Cup following their victory over Al Kholood.
Simone Inzaghi’s side are still unbeaten in the league and know that a win in this derby, coupled with their game in hand, could completely shift momentum in the title race.
Their attacking trio has consistently delivered this season, while the midfield balance provided by Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Mohamed Kanno has allowed them to dominate central areas in most matches.
The visitors have also shown tremendous character away from home, combining defensive organisation with quick counterattacking play. Karim Benzema’s movement inside the box and Malcom’s pace on the flanks give Al-Hilal enough firepower to trouble any defence in the league.
