Shabana FC, energized by one of the most passionate fan bases in the country, enters this clash knowing the FKF Cup is their best path to continental football.

After a clinical run through the earlier rounds including a 5-2 demolition of Muhoroni Youth in the round of 32 and most recently a 1-0 win over Kuta Collections in the last 16,the Kisii-based giants are determined to break the deadlock that has defined their recent meetings with Police.

Kenya Police, under the guidance of last season winning coach Nicholas Muyoti arrives in Kisii with the experience of a side that knows how to navigate knockout football.

Having won the title in 2024, they are eager to wrestle the crown back from current holders Nairobi United. Police have shown efficiency throughout the tournament, conceding just one goal and relying on their elite squad depth to grind out results.

This is the third meeting between the two sides this season. Their most recent encounter on April 25 ended in a 0-0 draw, while Shabana secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg of the league in November.

Shabana FC reached the Quarter-finals by edging out non-league side Kuta Collections 1-0 in the Round of 16. Their cup run has been impressive, starting with a 2-0 win over Commons FC followed by the 5-2 thrashing of Muhoroni Youth.

Kenya Police FC advanced to this stage after a 1-0 victory over BB Bread, the giant-killers who had previously eliminated Gor Mahia. In the earlier rounds, they dispatched TBM Health 4-1 and opened their campaign with a 1-0 win against Embakasi United.

Victory for Shabana FC would mark a historic step toward their first major silverware and a debut in CAF competitions. For Kenya Police FC, a win would keep them on track to reclaim their status as the dominant cup force in Kenyan football in recent days.

Meanwhile, minnows Mfalme FC from Eldoret will be aiming to reach the semi-finals as they look to upset SportPesa League side Bandari FC when the two face off at Mbaraki Sports Club from 3:45pm EAT.
