Arsenal vs Brighton prediction

Arsenal have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the English Premier League table when they host Fulham at the Emirates on Sunday evening.

The Gunners are sitting at the top of the standings with 73 points, but have played one more game than title challengers Manchester City. They can stretch that lead to six points at least until City play on Monday night.

They take on a Fulham side who are in 10th with 48 points – level with both Brentford and Chelsea. A positive result here against Arsenal will keep their hopes of European football alive for next season.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost two games at home in their last five in all competitions, giving the visitors some hope of avoiding defeat here. Despite playing out to a few draws, Fulham have not beaten Arsenal this century.

The home team are coming off a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday, while Fulham are looking to make it back-to-back league wins for the first time since February.

Can Arsenal make it yet another win against their London rivals or can Marco Silva’s side frustrate them to yet another stalemate? Here is our predicted outcome of the match.

Arsenal vs Fulham team news

Being the business end of the season and with the hectic fixture schedule, Arteta is expected to shuffle his side a little ahead of the match. Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli who started in midweek are expected to be rested.

Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka will get the nod in their place, with Viktor Gyokeres expected to retain his starting role up front.

Ben White could also start here as Christian Mosquera settles for a place on the bench. The rest of the back four is expected to remain unchanged with David Raya in goal.

The visitors are expected to field their strongest XI with the hope of European football still in their sights. Raul Jimenez will continue to lead the attacking line, supported by top scorer Harry Wilson.

Arsenal vs Fulham head-to-head and current form

With only one win in their last five matches across all competitions, the Arsenal are far from convincing and need to bounce back here. That run has also seen them lose twice, to Bournemouth and Man City.

Fulham on the other hand have won twice in that run, losing just once to Liverpool and are confident they can avoid defeat here.

The Gunners have won three of the last five matches played against Fulham, with the remaining two resulting in a stalemate.

There is undoubtedly more at stake for the home team here if they are to keep their title hopes alive. Their previous superior record against Fulham seems to have set the tone for this fixture and the home team are tipped as favorites to grind out a narrow win here.
