The outcome means the record champions now climb to 61 points, while Ingwe stay second after back-to-back losses on 55 points, as they could n0t get past Charles Akonnor side and complete a first double over them in over two decades.
Gor also managed to shatter Fred Ambani’s proud streak of never losing the Mashemeji Derby as a player and coach with Ingwe had won the first leg earlier this year at the same venue.

AFC Leopards vs Gor Mahia: K’Ogalo stun Ingwe 0-1
On Sunday evening in a vibrant, packed Nyayo Stadium, the opening ten minutes were a cagey affair, with both sides hunting for their rhythm.
Gor Mahia had a golden chance in the 14th minute after Musa Oundo committed a foul just a few meters out. Ebenezer Adukwaw stepped up, only to blast the ball over the bar.
Five minutes later, K’Ogalo crafted two more opportunities within a span of two minutes; chances that could have handed them the lead.
Alpha volleyed a lovely cross inside the box that landed at Adukwaw’s feet, but his loose right-footed effort was parried by Humphrey Katasi for a corner that yielded nothing. Then they got another look through Patrick Esombe, who swung down the right wing and had a clear shot on goal, only for Katasi to save superbly and keep Ingwe alive.
Gor had the upper hand and dominated large stretches. Two minutes before the half-hour mark, they carved out a brilliant chance to take the lead after Jackson Dwang slipped the ball to Paul Ochouga on the right flank.
Ochouga fired a shot inside the box that was deflected by Immanuel Lwangu, nearly becoming an own goal, but the woodwork rescued Ingwe, and Esombe’s follow-up was denied by another huge Katasi save.
Ingwe got a rare chance of their own minutes later through Samuel Ssenyonjo in the 36th minute, but his weak effort was blocked by the Gor defence.

Then Gor had another clear opening in the 41st minute via Aduk-waw, who delivered a cross from the left wing that narrowly evaded his foot for what would have been an open goal.
Just as Gor threatened from a close-range free kick, Ingwe also carved out a rare chance on the left wing after Enock Morrison fouled Tyson Otieno. Kayci Odhiambo stepped up, and his slick volleyed cross landed in a perfect spot inside the box, but the Ingwe players inside missed it completely.
The break arrived with the contest still cagey, Gor Mahia left to rue their missed chances despite bossing most of the first half.

Ingwe kicked off the second half determined to make their mark and they managed to create several chances and dominate the early stages after Fred Ambani made two changes; Boniface Munyendo and Ronald Sichenje made way for Hassan Beja and Kelly Madada.
After another stretch of cautious play, Gor Mahia finally snatched a winning goal in the 82nd minute from a set-piece corner.
Byron Onyona delivered it well; Ingwe initially intercepted, but then Onyana on the left wing swung in a cross that found the unmarked Chris Onyango, who made no mistake, slotting a low shot home to give the visitors the lead.
