Harambee Stars winger Clarke Oduor continued his impressive resurgence at club level after playing a key role in Grimsby Town’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra in a tightly contested Sky Bet League Two clash at Blundell Park on Saturday.

Oduor featured for 76 minutes and was instrumental in Grimsby Town’s attacking build-up, showing sharp movement, intelligent positioning and composure on the ball as the home side secured a crucial win that moved them within touching distance of the playoff places.
Grimsby Town were dominant for large spells of the game with striker Andy Cook stealing the headlines after scoring twice and providing an assist in a commanding attacking display.
The Mariners started brightly and nearly fell behind in the opening minute, but a vital save from goalkeeper Jackson Smith denied Crewe an early lead. From that moment, Grimsby took control of proceedings, with Oduor playing a key role in linking midfield and attack.
The deadlock was broken in the 11th minute when Cook capitalized on a defensive error to give the hosts the lead.
Grimsby continued to press forward, with Oduor making several forward runs through the middle and helping create openings as the Mariners dictated the tempo of the game.
His presence in midfield added creativity and balance, allowing his teammates to push forward with confidence.
After the break, Grimsby doubled their advantage when Cook turned provider, setting up Kieran Green for a simple finish to make it 2-0.

The third goal soon followed as Cook completed his brace with a well-taken volley, effectively putting the game beyond Crewe’s reach.
Oduor’s shift ended in the 75th minute when he was substituted after putting in a solid performance that showcased his work rate and attacking intent.
His contribution helped Grimsby maintain control in midfield and sustain pressure on the visitors throughout the match.
Crewe Alexandra attempted a late comeback, scoring twice in the closing minutes, but Grimsby held on to secure maximum points in front of their home supporters. The victory keeps the Mariners firmly in the race for the playoff spots and builds momentum ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
