A late header from Alpha Onyango ensured Gor Mahia extended their dominance over Shabana FC with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The win sees K’Ogalo move to 56 points, extending their lead at the summit of the SportPesa League to ten points, while ruining the debut of Shabana’s interim boss, Andrew Mark Ongwae.

Shabana were the first to knock on the opponents door just 90 seconds in when Brian Michira wrong footed Kibwage before unleashing a shot that went just wide.
The deadlock was however broken in the 21st minute after a period of fast transition from defense to attack Adukwaw found Shariff on the right who teed Dwang for the mid season signing to curl home on his left foot.
The visitors would surprisingly level the scores seconds later from the restart after Assis Mambote flicked the ball to Wycliffe Omondi who steered past Gad Matthews.
In the 27th minute Gor went close to retaking their lead from close range thanks to a Shariff Musa drive but but Stephen Ochieng’ saved the top bin.
Keith Imbali shot from distance five minutes later went just inches wide while on the stroke of halftime K’Ogalo Push for a second would almost bear fruits after a wonderful pass from Samuel Kapen found Adukwaw on the blindside with his header hitting the woodwork for the score to proceed to halftime on level terms.
The Second half started with the visitors on the front foot, Keith Imbali turned before his powerful shot was blocked for a corner by Kibwage.
Shabana would get an opportunity to double the lead from the resultant corner . Assis laid a wonderful weighted headed pass to his captain George Orako who failed to convert from close range.
Gor Mahia pacy forward Shariff Musa would hit the side netting moments later on his strong foot but nothing come from it.
