Gor Mahia took a massive step toward winning the 2025/26 Sportpesa League title on Sunday afternoon, dismantling a struggling Ulinzi Stars 3-1 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The victory sees the record champions capitalize on AFC Leopards’ slip-up on Saturday, extending their lead at the summit to ten points.
Coming into the match wounded by the FKF Cup exit, last weekend K’Ogalo showed no signs of a hangover, dominating the Sirkal Derby from the opening whistle. The result leaves the Soldiers rooted in the relegation dogfight, winless in their last six league outings.

The deadlock was broken broken in the ninth minute after an explosive run by Shariff Musa saw him win a penalty after a challenge by Bildad Abonga which eventually converted by Morrison.
The soldiers tried to fight back and in the 28th minute a wonderful header from Osotsi was deflected out for a corner.

Things would go from bad to worse five minutes after a Samuel kapen long throw caused a stir that found essombe who laid the ball to Shariff with the winger finding the top net.
With a minute to play Ulinzi got the consolation from a Boniface corner that was headed by Edward Odhiambo but wasn’t enough to change things for a 3-1 score at full-time.
