Posta Rangers saw a rare victory slip through their fingers in the dying minutes of the game as league leaders Gor Mahia salvaged a 1-1 draw at the Nyayo National Stadium on Thursday evening.
A first-half header from Jackson Macharia appeared to have set the Mailmen on course for a massive upset, only for Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah to strike in stoppage time, extending Rangers’ winless run to 11 matches.

Posta Rangers made three changes to their starting eleven starting Bixente Otieno in post in place of Fredrick Otinda while Leon Kimungui and Jackson Macharia came in for Elvis Osok and Brian Marita respectively while K’Ogalo brought in four players from there team that won late against Mathare.
Bryne Omondi returned to goal replacing Gad Matthews while Paul Ochuoga and Bryton Onyona returned to their right back and left back positions respectively.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 17th hiccup minute thanks to a Jackson header, Vincent Wasambo drifted wide right being met by Macharia on the far post.
In the 19th minute, K’Ogalo came close to finding the leveller after goalkeeper Bixente Otieno’s quick restart found Kapen who teed former Mailman Dwang only for him to hit the woodwork.
The first yellow card of the match was handed to Shariff Musa at the half hour mark for pulling Olilo to stop a counter.
At the stroke of halftime, Maloba tried a shot from close range but it deflected on Odhiambo before being saved by Byrne for a 1-0 scoreline at halftime.
The second half started off in Ernest. In the 50th minute deflected shot from Jackson Dwang went out for a corner.
Gor Mahia would do double substitution immediately bringing on Ben Stanley Omondi and Ebenezer Adukwaw for Jackson Dwang and Samuel Kapen.
The precious moment however came late on with three minutes to play. Enock Morrison’s cross was mistimed by substitute goalkeeper Fredrick Odhiambo only for fellow Ghanaian Ebenezer Assifuah to chest it at the back post for a 1-1 score at full-time.
The two sides now turn their focus to the FKF Cup, Gor Mahia will host giant slayers BB Bread as Posta Rangers face Oinopsos.
