- Shujaa thrash Belgium to extend their perfect start at home in the HSBC SVNS 2 Nairobi leg.
- Kenya 7s secured a 33-0 victory, fueled by the electric support of the home crowd at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The men’s national 7s team, Shujaa, maintained their electric start on home soil, sealing their second victory of the day with a commanding 33-0 triumph over Belgium on Saturday afternoon at Nyayo National Stadium.
Fresh from a dominant Saturday morning performance where they brushed aside Canada 29-12, Kevin Wambua’s charges were determined to sustain that momentum and they certainly delivered, much to the delight of the home fans who roared them on.
Just two minutes into the clash, Shujaa were already ahead. Assistant captain Samuel Asati capitalized on a scrum-half opportunity just meters from the Belgian try line, calmly dotting down. Nygel Amaitsa slotted in the conversion for a 7-0 lead.

Brimming with confidence, Shujaa stretched their advantage through Christan Ojwang.
After Kenya secured a scrum in their own 22, Ojwang received a slick offload, spotted a gap in Belgium’s defence and sliced through before touching down between the posts. Amaitsa once again made no mistake with the extras to hand Kenya a 14-0 cushion.

Moments before halftime, Shujaa struck twice in quick succession. Asati offloaded to Kevin Wekesa, who finished clinically, before speedster Patrick Odongo burst through the Belgian backline to score under the sticks.
With both conversions successful, Kenya headed into the break cruising at 26-0.

The second half was more measured, with Belgium pressing to get on the scoreboard but squandering their chances.
Their missed opportunities proved costly as substitute Floyd Wabwire added to Kenya’s tally after coming on for Odongo. David Nyangige, making his debut, calmly converted to wrap up a polished performance.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Lionesses fell short in their second fixture of the day against a resolute China Women’s 7s side, narrowly going down 15-12.

The Simon Odongo charges had one mission, to extend their dominance after claiming their first win of the day, narrowly edging Brazil 15–12. However, early defensive lapses proved costly, and China capitalized without hesitation.
China struck almost immediately in the first half through Le Zhang, who handed his side a well-deserved five points. Three minutes later, Sun Yue took advantage of the Lionesses’ shaky defense to add to the tally to 10-0.

Before halftime, Ge Chenjie slotted in China’s third try, giving them a commanding 15-point cushion heading into the break.
After the restart, the Lionesses returned with renewed determination, eager to replicate their earlier comeback heroics.
Freshia Odour crossed over for the opening try of the half, which Grace Okulu calmly converted. Okulu later added a try of her own, but the clock worked against the Lionesses as they ultimately fell short.
Next, the Lionesses will wrap up their day hoping to finish on a high when they face their African counterparts, South Africa, in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Shujaa will take on Germany as they aim to preserve their flawless record at home.
