Gor Mahia’s new Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Kofi Assifuah was an elated man after scoring the winning goal in his first appearance for the record champions on Wednesday.
The side mounted an epic comeback to defeat Murang’a SEAL 3–2 at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
Before the seasoned striker came off the bench to seal the victory, K’Ogalo had appeared destined for defeat after conceding two soft first-half goals.

The first came from red hot Joe Irungu Waithira just three minutes in, before Francis Memusi capitalized on a defensive lapse to volley home in the 17th minute.
The match turned after the break and Felix Olouch narrowed the deficit, capitalizing on a poor clearance from SEAL goalkeeper Mustapha Oduor who fumbled Bryton Onyona’s cross.
Shortly after, SEAL’s fortunes deteriorated further when Dennis Munyovi deflected Paul Ochouga’s strike into his own net.
With just nine minutes left on the clock, Gor Mahia completed a thrilling comeback through super-sub and marquee signing Assifuah.
Ochouga, who was later named Man of the Match, delivered a teasing low cross from the right wing, and the Ghanaian forward reacted brilliantly to tap in the decisive goal, sealing all three points and propelling Gor Mahia to joint top of the SportPesa League table.
