SportPesa League side Tusker FC have been dealt yet another blow to their playing unit after losing two players to the National Police Service with the duo set to join the Administration Police (AP) recruits training school in Embakasi.

In an official statement released by the club on  Saturday, the Brewers announced their departure.

“We would like to confirm that two of our players have left the team to join the Administration Police Training College (APTC). Midfielder Curtis Wekesa and young defender George Odhiambo have left the squad to pursue another career path.

This will now bring to three, the players who have left the team after the start of the season, with Issa Lumumba having earlier left to join the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF),” Tusker posted.

Lumumba, who joined the club in the off season transfer window from Ulinzi Stars, was recalled back to the military outfit to undergo training in November.

Head coach Charles Okere now says he will have to find ways to cope with the blow with several players currently out nursing injuries.

“We have now lost three players who have joined the uniformed forces. As much as it is a blow in terms of our personnel, we have to work with the squad left. We believe in each and every person and we now have to find other players to fill the voids,” the tactician said.

Okere has further hinted at possible reinforcements when the mid-season transfer window opens on 12 January 2026.

“We wish them well in their new ventures. It is an opportunity you cannot deny any player and as a team we believe in giving people opportunities.

When the window comes, we will look at the possibility of bringing in other players, but as at now, it is a chance opened for someone else to rise to the occasion,” he noted.

The departure of the three now leaves Tusker FC with a registered squad of 26 players, and the coaching team will now look into filling those voids when the mid-season window opens.

With three players departing, Tusker FC’s registered squad now stands at twenty six players.

The brewers are currently eighth on the log with eighteen points after twelve matches.

They will face Sofapaka away in the final match of the 2025 calendar year on 14 December.
