The SportPesa League enters its Round 12 this weekend with a blockbuster standalone fixture set for Friday, December 5, when Tusker FC will host Ulinzi Stars at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a from 3PM.
Having returned to winning ways last weekend by edging out Mara Sugar 1-0, Tusker will be aiming for consecutive victories to boost their league standing, potentially lifting them into the top three temporarily before other results come in.
They currently sit sixth in the standings with 15 points from a possible 33, after four wins, three draws, and an equal number of defeats as wins.

Tusker FC vs Ulinzi Stars Preview
They are four points adrift of leaders Gor Mahia and second-placed Kakamega Homeboyz, who both have 19 points.
But despite regaining some form, home advantage has been a challenge this season.
They have only won one of their five home matches, losing twice and drawing twice. Their sole home victory was a narrow 2-1 win against Kariobangi Sharks.
Therefore, Charles Okere’s side will be determined to give their all to secure the three points at home, as well as a second home victory of the season.
However, their form will be tested against an in-form Ulinzi Stars side, who will look to extend their unbeaten run to four matches under head coach Stephen Ochola.

After securing consecutive wins against APS Bomet and Sofapaka, the Soldiers were held to a 1-1 draw by Bandari FC last weekend, a result that left them ninth with 13 points.
Those two away victories will bolster their confidence, as they have had decent form on the road, winning three of their six away matches, losing one, and drawing twice.
Only Gor Mahia and Shabana have better away records.
Tusker FC vs Ulinzi Stars Team News
Ulinzi Stars head coach Stephen Ochola, reflecting on the Bandari draw, stated that the team has much to improve and hopes to address individual errors from that match.
I would say they were mistakes- largely individual ones from the defender and the keeper,” he admitted. “Based on the results, there is still more to be done to make it difficult for our visitors to secure points, especially in our aggression and intent.”

Meanwhile, Charles Okere emphasized that his team is taking each match as it comes and ensuring they prepare thoroughly, as they remain in the title race.
We are still in the title race; nothing is lost. For us now, it’s about keeping momentum with the teams at the top. The games we lost were a learning process due to errors, and if we improve on that, we will progress.
All our matches henceforth are very important, starting with Friday’s against Ulinzi. What I am urging the players is to get it right.”
