Leading online gaming firm SportPesa took a lead in ushering the Christmas festivities as they unveiled Joseph Kamau as the latest winner of its popular Mega Jackpot offering at the heart of Nairobi on Thursday afternoon.
Using only 99 shilling as his stake, Kamau saw his bet multiplied a thousand times over as he won a staggering 20,744,582 shillings after correctly predicting the outcome of all the thirteen games in the Mega Jackpot Pro 13.
The Mega Jackpot Pro 13 is a sub-category of the known Mega Jackpot that ordinarily has 17 games, but it has 13 games and a different prize purse.

Speaking on the day of his unveiling, 41-year-old Kamau narrated how his biggest win courtesy of the SportPesa Mega Jackpot came to be.
“I had a feeling that my win was coming soon. I never used to get a lot of correct predictions, but on two consecutive weekends, I got upto 11 games correct.
So on that Saturday, a colleague found out that I usually bet and joked that they would one day see me on tv. Little did I know that after 24 hours I would win the Mega Jackpot,” he said.
The businessman, who owns a tailoring shop in Nairobi, revealed how tensed he was following on the bet slip, something he does not normally do.

“I was tensed because ordinarily I do not follow the progress of my bets. But on this one, I also had multibets on some of the games. I got a message alert on those and they were correct which made me shift attention to the Mega Jackpot bet.
I remember the last game was between Napoli and Roma and honestly if the Mega Jackpot had a cashout option, I would have cashed out.
I picked Napoli who were playing away which did not give me confidence. The whole game I was just praying. Luckily, I won and after a few minutes I got the congratulatory message from SportPesa,” he revealed.
Having been paraded in the Nairobi CBD, Kamau revealed his immediate plans for the windfall even as he encouraged gamers to play responsibly.

“My plan has always been to expand my business by buying modern tailoring machines so that I take it to the next level. I would also love to own my own home.
This win has come at the right time because Christmas is just around the corner and this will be the best of my life. As a family, we can now go on vacation without having school fees pressure in January,” he asserted.

With his win, the Mega Jackpot Pro 13 reverts to 10 million shillings while the Mega Jackpot is at 110,682,430 which you can win using only 99 bob as your stake.
The Midweek Jackpot is also at Ksh. 29,950,157 which you can win using only 99 shillings as your stake. The Midweek Jackpot will be played on Friday 5 December.
