Brian Chonjo scored the all-important goal to return his side, Posta Rangers, to winning ways as they ended a seven-match SportPesa League winless run with a narrow 1–0 victory over Bidco United.

The midfielder finished with a crisp strike from the left wing after namesake Brian Yakhama volleyed a clever back-pass assist, which Chonjo converted without error in the 29th minute.

Posta Rangers edge Bidco United 1–0

The Monday evening’s win at Kasarani Annex not only broke a streak of nearly six weeks without victory – during which they recorded three draws and four losses, but also earned three points that propelled the team into fourth place on the table with 16 points, just three behind leaders Gor Mahia (19).

Additionally, it marked the first win for the Mailmen under new interim coach Collins Omondi, who took over following the departure of Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo.

For Bidco United, however, struggles deepened as their winless run extended to six SportPesa League matches, having drawn three and lost three in that span.

The result leaves Antony Akhulia’s side- which started the season strongly and competed for a top-four spot, drifting to mid-table in ninth place, now with only 13 points from a possible 33.

Furthermore, they have yet to secure a home win in their last five matches this season, managing only one victory at the start of the campaign a 1–0 result against Gor Mahia, while recording two draws and three defeats on home turf.

Antony Akhulia’s squad must now regroup and aim to bounce back in their next fixture, a meeting with resurgent Shabana FC on Sunday, December 6 at Gusii Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Mailmen under their new head coach will look to extend this positive start when they return to action over the weekend.
