Why Kenya Police FC captain David Cheche loves facing Gor Mahia more than any other team
Gor Mahia, of course, are in a league of their own. They are the biggest team in the country and the finest side to play against. Their fans also bring a great vibe into the stadium, which is good for football,” Cheche explained.
The 33-year-old remained with the SportPesa League reigning champions, the Law Enforcers, despite having previously hinted at retirement after winning his second top-flight title- and his first with Kenya Police FC last season.

Under the guidance of the since-dismissed coach Etienne Ndayiragije, Cheche delivered stellar performances.
His leadership was instrumental in guiding the team to their historic first title and through their inaugural CAF Champions League campaign.
David Cheche’s best moment in his football career
For the former AFC Leopards defender, although he had already won a league title with Tusker FC in 2012, last season’s triumph with the Law Enforcers stands out as the pinnacle of his career.
He emphasized that winning at an advanced age made the success even more fulfilling.
My best moment in my entire football career was when we won the SportPesa League title last season. I believe it’s because some of us in the team are older and we had to prove people wrong. We demonstrated that success isn’t solely about fresh, young players.”
