AFC Leopards seek redemption against SEAL as Kenya Police FC visit Tusker in Murang’a
  • AFC Leopards seek redemption against SEAL in SportPesa League round nine fixture to be played on Sunday, November 16.
  • The match will be staged at the Nyayo National Stadium, with kick-off set for 4:00 PM EAT.
  • Meanwhile, Kenya Police FC will face Tusker FC on the same day, with kick-off at 2:00 PM EAT.

AFC Leopards will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing first SportPesa league loss as they host Murang’a SEAL on Sunday, November 16, at the Nyayo National Stadium.

With kick-off slated for 4:00 PM EAT, Ingwe will be seeking to return to winning ways following a 2-0 defeat to Mara Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium.

Despite AFC Leopards dominating proceedings in that fixture, Dennis Cheriuyot came off the bench to punish them with two late goals.

After seven matches, the 12-time champions sit in fifth place on the log with 12 points.

A convincing victory with a clean sheet on Sunday evening could see them potentially climb to second, leapfrogging Kakamega Homeboyz, who faltered on Saturday with a 2-0 loss to Mathare United.

Meanwhile, SEAL, a side sponsored by the leading gaming firm SportPesa, are riding high after a successful event where they launched their season kit at the SportPesa Arena on Saturday.

They will be looking not only for three points but also to cap that event with a win.

Coming into this matchweek nine fixture, Don Otieno’s squad will be seeking to lift themselves from 15th place, where they currently sit with just eight points from two wins and two draws, having suffered four losses this season.

This will be the fifth encounter between these two teams since SEAL earned promotion two seasons ago.

The head-to-head record is evenly balanced, with each side claiming one victory and two games ending in draws. Their most recent meeting last season ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Tusker FC vs Kenya Police FC

While those two face off in Nairobi, another intriguing clash is expected at the SportPesa Arena where the reigning champions, Kenya Police, will visit Tusker FC; the match is set to kick off at 2:00 PM EAT.

Having started the season on a poor footing, Charles Okere’s men are now finding their rhythm and will be aiming to extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches (comprising three wins and three draws).

They head home having secured a 1-0 win against Bidco United, a result that bolstered their points tally.

They currently sit in sixth place with 12 points, and a win today could propel them to second, pending the later result from the AFC Leopards game.

As for the Law Enforcers, who have only played five matches this season, they have yet to break into the top ten and currently reside in 13th place on the log with eight points, from just two wins, two draws, and one loss.

They enter this contest aiming to return to winning ways after suffering a crushing 2-0 defeat at home to record champions Gor Mahia a few days ago.

A potential victory on Sunday could lift them at least into eighth place with 11 points.

Last season, Kenya Police FC took four points from Tusker, and they will be aiming to maintain that dominance.
