The Kenya Lionesses are the 2025 Safari 7s champions after stunning their neighbors, the Uganda Lady Cranes, in a hard-fought 14-10 victory on Sunday, October 12, at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The Lionesses roared into action almost immediately. Just a minute into the game, they set up a powerful maul and executed it brilliantly, sending the ball to the right wing.
Edith Nariaka sliced through the Cranes’ defense to score, and Sinaida Mokaya added the conversion for a 7-0 lead.

Uganda swiftly hit back with a try of their own, capitalizing on an opportunity on the right wing.
Comfort Anganyika broke through to touch down in the whitewash, narrowing the score to 7-5. Then, just before halftime, Grace Nabagalla crossed over in the left corner, sending the Lady Cranes into the break with a 10-7 lead.

Despite being a player down, the Simon Odongo-led charges held their nerve, mounting a staunch defense to clinch the win.
This hard-earned victory saw them reclaim the Safari 7s title, dethroning the previous champions, the Costa Blanca Barbarians.
