The meaning behind Gor Mahia’s three kits this season

This season, the 21-time top-flight champions are taking a different approach to engage their loyal, grassroots fanbase through their merchandise.

The new merchandise comes in three distinct colours; green, white, and black- each sold at the same price, but carrying its own symbolic meaning.

Green Kit

The iconic green jersey honors the club’s tradition and serves as the primary home kit.

It is a strong symbol of Luo culture, featuring the club’s emblem on the left, the distributor’s name on the right, and giant gaming firm SportPesa prominently displayed on the front.

A unique detail is the Roman numerals “XXI” at the bottom left, signifying the club’s record number of Kenyan top-flight titles.

Wearing the green kit carries immense weight for the players, as they embody the entire football culture of the Luo community.

White Kit

The white kit, adorned with faded black stripes, symbolizes the unity and ambition of the club and will be used as the away jersey.

Clean, modern, and meaningful, this design reflects the club’s continued push for excellence and cohesion on and off the field.

Black Kit

The third kit is a bold, black ensemble that represents a powerful expression of identity. It signifies what the team stands for, what they protect, and their inherent strength.

It’s more than just an alternate strip. It’s a powerful expression of who the club is, what it stands for, and the values it fiercely protects.
