Record SportPesa Mega Jackpot winner Bonnie Kamau was officially unveiled on Wednesday afternoon in a colourful ceremony that took place at the immaculate JW Marriott hotel in Nairobi.
Kamau made history by becoming the biggest ever SportPesa Mega Jackpot winner after scooping a staggering Ksh. 424,660,618 after correctly predicting the outcome of 17/17 games in the SportPesa Mega Jackpot using only 99 shillings as his stake.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, SportPesa CEO Hon. Ronald Karauri expressed his delight in finally getting a Mega jackpot winner for the first time since 2018.
“As SportPesa, we are very happy because it has taken so long for this jackpot to be won and I want to congratulate Bonnie. At some point, Kenyans stopped believing this jackpot would be won.
The purpose of the SportPesa Mega Jackpot was to change people’s lives and from all the previous winners, that has been the case. We hope that will be the same with Bonnie,” Karauri noted.
On his part, Kamau detailed how he only used 500 shillings as stake which propelled him to perpetual riches.
I placed five different Mega Jackpot bets using a total of 500 bob. Two were unsuccessful while three were correct. Of the 3, one happened to be the one.
This win means everything for my wife, kids and mum. Also I think, I will be giving back to the society because back at home we have a water problem so I can plan and dig something like a borehole for them,” Kamau noted.
