  • Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy will be eyeing his first ever victory in the Kenya vs Chad clash.

Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy will be seeking to win his first match since landing the job earlier this year in the Kenya vs Chad friendly match scheduled for today, Saturday, June 7, 2025.

The Kenya vs Chad encounter that is expected to kick-off at 6 pm East African Time (EAT) is not an ordinary friendly tie, it’s a golden opportunity for McCarthy to secure his maiden Harambee Stars victory.

However, that would not come easy since he will be without one of his best attackers Mohamed Bajaber, who recently picked up an injury.

Benni McCarthy optimistic ahead of Kenya vs Chad friendly clash

Speaking ahead of the clash that will be staged at the Stade de Marrakech, McCarthy stated that he is happy with what he has witnessed from his charges in the few training sessions that they have had together.

“I have seen a lot of good things from the new players that came into the team. Looking forward to tomorrow’s match and a good test for the players, you know. It’s a preparation for CHAN because the majority of the team is local based.

And, I’m just with a few international players that we thought needed some game time. They could play two international friendlies and then go on their vacation while we prepare for CHAN. So, now the team is looking good,” he explained.
