SportPesa Blog takes a look at the key stars who will miss the Tottenham versus Manchester United Europa League final.
Dejan Kulusevski
Tottenham, who are seeking to win a trophy for the first time in more than a decade, will miss their mercurial winger Dejan Kulusevski.
Kulusevski underwent knee surgery a few days ago after picking up an injury in the match against Crystal Palace.
The Swedish international will miss the Europa League final as well as Spurs’ last Premier League game of the season against Brighton.
James Maddison
The other important Tottenham Hotspurs player who is guaranteed to miss the upcoming clash against Man United is former Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
Similar to Kulusevki, Maddison is also out for the rest of the season because of a knee problem.
However, despite the injury, the Three Lions attacker has traveled to Bilbao with the rest of the Tottenham Hotspurs squad.
Lisandro Martinez
As for Manchester United, they will miss the services of their dependable Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez, who was part of the Argentine squad that won the coveted 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, is still recovering from an ACL injury which he suffered in February, 2025.
The latest Manchester United supporters should expect to see Martinez back to the starting lineup is at the start of the 2025-26 season.
Matthijs de Ligt
Matthijs de Ligt did not take part in Manchester United’s training on Tuesday morning, hence he is set to be unavailable for the Europa League final.
The Dutch defender is still recovering from a muscular injury which he sustained in Man United’s 4-3 defeat to Brentford earlier this month.
Besides these four Tottenham and Man Utd players, the others that are likely not to feature on Wednesday include Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United), Lucas Bergvall (Tottenham), Radu Dragusin (Tottenham), Pape Sarr (Tottenham), Diogo Dalot (Manchester United) and Leny Yoro (Manchester United).
