Tusker FC missed an opportunity to climb to the top of the 24/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League 24/25 table after being held to a goalless draw by Bandari FC on Sunday afternoon at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.

Now enduring a fifth consecutive draw, the Brewers will remain behind Kenya Police, who continue to lead the standings with 41 points, although both teams have the same number of points.

However, Police boast a superior goal difference and also have a game in hand.

On the other hand, Bandari, also coming off a draw in their previous match, dropped two points and fell to eighth place in the standings with 33 points, accumulated from eight wins, nine draws, and six losses.

It was not an ideal day for Charles Okere’s side as they missed key player and top striker Ryan Ogam due to injury.

Consequently, changes were made with Dogratiuos Ojok stepping in to replace him.

Ken Odhiambo’s side received a boost in the backline with the return of their shot-stopper Bryne Omondi.

In their pursuit of three points, Ian Simiyu started on a high note, but his early strike was ruled out for an apparent foul on Omondi as indicated by the centre referee.

Kevin Odoyo impressed with his play, creating several opportunities for the Brewers, but Simiyu and Fabian Adikiny were unable to capitalize on them.

Odhiambo was forced to make an early substitution when Beja Nyamawi was replaced by Mark Makwata who was making his debut for the club.

Despite dominating possession, Tusker could have taken the lead through George Kaddu, but his shot was comfortably saved by Omondi.

Both teams created chances, but the first half ended in a tense stalemate.

Okere made tactical changes in the second half, bringing on David Odoyo for Ojok, followed by another double substitution, with Fabian Adikiny and Erick Balecho being replaced by Dennis Wanjala and Boban Zirintusa.

Despite the changes, the intensity remained unchanged, and neither team was able to break the deadlock, resulting in a share of the spoils.

Tusker will now look to Kenya Police to drop points in their midweek fixture on Tuesday, where they will face AFC Leopards at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Murang’a SEAL VS Mathare United

Donald Ange was the first to break the deadlock for Mathare and took the lead before SEAL equalized in the second half.

With the addition of one point, John Njogus’ side’s took their tally to 24 points, just two above the bottom three relegation zone.
