Kenya Police’s new signing Mohamed Bajaber has revealed that it pains him to leave his first club, Nairobi City Stars, and how he wishes he would have exited under better circumstances.
The attacking midfielder has been in impressive form this season and has left City Stars struggling to avoid relegation under their new head coach Salim Babu with the Kawangware-based side sitting third from bottom which is in the relegation zone.
Although his transfer fee to the law enforcers has not been officially disclosed, Bajaber’s move could be one of the more expensive transfers in the midseason window.
In an interview with sport Journalist Eric Njiru, Bajaberstated that it does not sit well with him to leave the club at this time, as the team is still trying to improve their position in the standings.
“It feels good, although it hurts my heart a little to leave City Stars at this point. I wish I could have left under better circumstances,” Bajaber shared.

He further mentioned that playing for Simba wa Nairobi has been his best experience, as last season was one of his finest and this season has also been productive for him even though the team has been at their lowest.
“It started off not too well, but I gradually adapted to the team and I think last season was our best. Now, I think I’ve played well this season, but it’s not going too well for the team,” he added.
Bajaber stated that he joins Police FC who are one of the top teams in the league having won a title last season (FKF Cup). He believes it is a strong team and is determined to help them achieve their goals.

“The team is challenging for the title and won the FKF Cup last year. I think this is a very good team, so I hope I can help them achieve what they want,” he stated.
The 21-year-old reflected on his experience with the national team, Harambee Stars, during the Mapinduzi Cup, describing it as a great exposure that motivated him to work even harder.
“It was good. The quality of players and coaches around me there was quite high which really helped me analyse myself and gauge my abilities against the best players in the league, as well as those in Tanzania and Zanzibar. It was a great experience and it made me want to work even harder,” he remarked.
