“We warmly welcome the talented twins, Nancy Barasa and Brigit Barasa to the KCB Volleyball Club as they officially begin their journey with us after completing high school at Kesogon Secondary.
Your hard work and dedication have brought you this far, and we are excited to see you shine and grow as part of the KCB family. Here’s to a bright future filled with success and achievements on and off the court,” Bitok stated.
Huge legacy left behind
During their time at Kesogon, Nancy and Brigit helped the institution to win its first ever Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) volleyball title.
Although they fell in the hands of Kwanthanze Secondary School at the national games that were staged in Kisii County, the twins inspired Kesogon to avenge their defeat in the hotly contested final of the FEASSSA Games that was held in Mbale, Uganda.
Brigit and Nancy, who were part of the squad that suffered a painful defeat in the 2023 FEASSSA final, steered Kesogon to an impressive 25-16, 25-18 and 25-17 victory.
At KCB, the sisters will sharpen their skills under the tutelage of the veteran coach Japheth Munala and have an opportunity to play alongside the likes of Deborah Jesang, Sharleen Sembel and Edith Wisa.
The Bankers are expected to kick start their 2025 season on January 25th when the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league starts.
According to the fixtures, KCB will lock horns with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Nairobi Prisons in the two-day tournament that is set to be held in Elgeyo/Marakwet County.
