Murang’a SEAL interim coach John Njogu will aim to bag his third consecutive win when his side face FC Talanta on Sunday at 13:00 at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos county.
The central region based club is coming off a 1-0 victory against Posta Rangers in a game that was played last weekend at the SportPesa Arena.
With this being their final fixture of 2024, Njogu’s side will be targeting all three points to move into the top ten, hoping to spend Christmas there.

Currently in 12th place with 18 points from 14 matches, a win would improve their league standing and provide a morale boost heading into 2025.
In addition, SEAL has performed well on the road this season, securing three wins and earning 11 points from seven away matches.

On the other hand, Jackline Juma’s Talanta FC has been inconsistent this season, managing only one victory in their last six matches.
They will enter the match following a 1-0 defeat to Kenya Police in a rescheduled midweek fixture, which came after a 1-1 draw with Nairobi City Stars. Talanta currently sits just two spots above the relegation zone, with 14 points from three wins, five draws, and six losses.
FC Talanta remains the favorite in this encounter, having won both of their previous meetings with Murang’a SEAL last season. They won 1-0 in both the first and second legs, with Alex Juma scoring in the only goal in the first encounter.
John Njogu expressed his desire to build a team that plays attractive football while delivering results that will make the fans happy.
“I want to build a team that not only plays well but also delivers good results. We want a team that can win matches,” he said. “This is my second match, and I am pushing the boys to fight for the Murang’a SEAL badge,” he told SportPesa blog after the win against Posta Rangers.
No key players have been reported as injured or unavailable for either team, so an exciting match is expected ahead of Gor Mahia’s clash with Kariobangi Sharks at the same venue.
While these two matches take place in Machakos, Dandora Stadium will also host a double-header of action.
At 13:00, Ulinzi Stars will host Nairobi City Stars, with both teams seeking vital points. Ulinzi is coming off a heavy 3-0 defeat to Gor Mahia, while Nairobi City Stars are looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw with Talanta FC. This match was originally scheduled for Kinoru Stadium in Meru but was relocated to Nairobi.
At 16:00, Bandari FC, currently fourth, will travel to face eighth-placed AFC Leopards in a crucial end-of-year showdown.
Fred Ambani’s side will look to recover from a 1-1 draw with Sofapaka, while Ken Odhiambo’s Leopards will aim to close the gap on KCB and Tusker, who both have 27 points. Bandari FC currently have 22 points.
