The two countries were once scheduled to play each other in October 2016 but the friendly match was cancelled.
The match against Morocco will provide a strong test for the Harambee Starlets, ranked 151 in the FIFA Women’s Ranking, as the North Africans are not only ranked 92 places higher than them, but have amassed an enviable pedigree in international women’s football in recent years.
Morocco, ranked 59th in the FIFA Women’s Ranking, were runners-up at the last AWCON held in 2022 in Morocco and featured at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup where they marked their maiden appearance with a Round of 16 finish.
