Kenya Simbas

The men’s national rugby 15s head coach Jerome Paarwater has named the 25-man squad that will face Uganda in the return leg of the 2024 Elgon Cup set to take place at the Kings Park in Bweyogerere, Uganda on Saturday 16 November.

Simbas claimed the bragging rights in the first leg following their narrow 27-25 win last Saturday at the RFUEA Grounds.

Following the hard-fought, Paarwater has made only a few changes to the squad.

The only notable absentee is Blak Blad’s Ernest Obat Kuke who has been excused due to school commitments.

In his place, the team management has called up Hillary Mwanjilwa from Kabras Sugar RFC.

Also joining the squad are two additional players who did not feature in the first leg; Teddy Akala from Kabras Sugar RFC and Beldad Ogeta from Menengai Oilers.

After an impressive debut performance, Griffin Chao has been retained alongside Under-20 player Andycole Omolo. KCB’s Tyson Maina, who also made his debut in the first leg will also travel with the team.

After some disciplinary errors in the first round where the team conceded many penalties, the Kenya Simbas will need to improve on Saturday to avoid being punished by the Cranes.
