AFC Leopards head coach Thomas Trucha has stated that he does not want to take part in any early title race discussions despite having a strong start to the 2024/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign.
After four matches played (W3 L1), Ingwe are third on 9 points, one behind leaders KCB and Kariobangi Sharks who are tied on ten points.
Following that strong start, the Ingwe boss has called on people to accord the club more time to see how they do in more games before having any ideas about the title chase.
“Give us another two games to see what happens first. If the team continues to perform, then let us talk about our title chase after the six games.

We have just started and it is a positive start. A start I would have liked but we cannot talk now about the title, maybe after six games then we will see,” Trucha told SportsBoom.
Trucha emphasized that he prefers not to rush to conclusions, especially with another international break coming in November which will provide insight into the team’s performance for the rest of the season.
“We will next face Murang’a SEAL, and to be honest after the first six games of the season it will tell you something about the team. Let us see where we will be by then,” he added.
The 52-year-old acknowledged that Ingwe still has much to improve as he assured that they will address the mistakes made in the match against City Stars to minimize errors going forward.
“We want to keep improving because we are not there yet. We must work on our mistakes and make them minimal. All the mistakes from the City Stars game will be worked on, we will strive to improve and keep taking it a game at a time.” Trucha added.
Ingwe kicked off their season strongly, unlike last year, with a decisive 4-0 victory over Mathare United.
However, they faced a setback in their second match, losing 1-0 to Posta Rangers at Kenyatta Stadium.
They managed to secure three points by defeating Bidco United 1-0 at Thika Stadium and in their fourth match at Dandora Stadium they beat Nairobi City Stars 2-1.
After four games, Ingwe is in the top three with 9 points, trailing behind KCB and Sharks, who have not yet lost and are tied at 10 points each.
