In Cairo, Egypt
Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will miss the services of one of their key players in their 24/25 CAF Champions League return game against African giants Al Ahly owing to an indiscipline issue.
Despite Gor Mahia needing the services of every player as they try to pull a miracle by overturning a 0-3 deficit from the first leg played at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi a week ago, Brazilian head coach Leo Neiva has disclosed that he cannot compromise on the indiscipline case.
Speaking to SportPesa Blog who made the trip to Egypt alongside Gor Mahia, Neiva disclosed that the said player, who also features for the men’s national football team, will not play any part in the big clash following the indiscretion.

“We are going to change some positions in the team over an indiscipline issue. Football is not only about technical ability. It is about tactics, mentality, commitment, behaviour and attitude.
We do not like to put a player out but that will need to happen and some player will be out of the squad,” Neiva revealed.
SportPesa Blog can confirm that the player refused to talk to the coach who wanted to have a word with him and refused to play in a position that he has played in before.
Co-incidentally, it is not the first time the occurrence is happening as the player was also omitted from the matchday squad back in July when Gor Mahia travelled to Tanzania to take part in the 2024 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Gor Mahia will also be without the services of first-choice goalkeeper Kevin Omondi but that is owing to a shoulder injury.
In Cairo, K’Ogalo will have a difficult choice to make when they take on African giants Al Ahly at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Saturday night (7 PM).
K’Ogalo suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat in the first leg and need nothing short of three goals to force a penalty shootout or four goals to win outright while desperately hoping that the Egyptian giants forget their scoring boots in camp.
The 21-time Kenyan champions however face a daunting task at hand as the Egyptian giants will be playing in front of their fanbase on a day that they will also receive their 23/24 Egyptian league title after the Champions League match, giving the hosts even more motivation to stoke the celebrations afterwards.
