Udinese vs Bologna

This clash in the Italian Serie A will be the first of three games kicking off this week’s SportPesa Mega Jackpot on Saturday at 1700EAT.

The encounter will be a tale of contrasting fortunes as Udinese currently sit in 17th place on the log on 14 points while visiting Bologna occupy fourth spot on 31 points.

The hosts go into the match just one point ahead of the relegation zone and have not recorded a victory in any of their last six league games.

A last gasp equalizer in their last clash against Torino left them to settle for yet another draw as they recorded an eleventh stalemate across the opening 17 league matches (W1 L5).

On the other hand, Bologna are flying after winning their last four games in all competitions to move to within two points off the top four places. They are also undefeated in their last seven clashes against Udinese (W2 D5).

Crystal Palace vs Brentford

Separated by only one point in the league standings, 14th placed Brentford welcome 15th placed Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday with the match set to kick off at 1800 EAT.

The two sides both lost their Boxing Day clashes and will be out to get back to winning ways in a bid to create further daylight between themselves and the relegation places.

Palace are winless in eight consecutive league matches (D3 L5) and will be desperate to end that run against a struggling Brentford that is equally out to get a win having lost its last four consecutive matches.

The Bees make the trip with a point advantage and it remains to be seen which of the two sides will want the three points more.

This will be the second last game kicking off at 2030EAT on Saturday.

Both sides managed to get back to winning ways in their last league fixtures with Nottingham stunning Newcastle 1-3 for their first win under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo while United came from two goals down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in an epic clash at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag will hope the win will prove to be the much-needed impetus the Red Devils need to turn around their inconsistent season that has them in seventh place on 31 points.

Forest on their part will be out to frustrate if not slay another giant as they seek to move away from the relegation territory.
