Jishikie Kienyeji Hii Krisi

Grace Nyambura ushered in the 2023 Christmas festivities in ideal style after being crowned the overall Ksh. 100,000 winner of the SportPesa ‘Jishikie Kienyeji Hii Krisi’ campaign that ran from 4-23 December.

After an incredibly tough year for the Nakuru resident, the leading online gaming firm gave Nyambura and her family some reason to cheer as they walked away with the festive treat of Ksh. 100,000, reinforcing SportPesa’s belief in making an impact on the lives of its outstanding customers.

Nyambura, the first born in a family of four children, showed resilience after battling through a difficult 2023 which started on a sad note with the passing on of their father in the opening quarter of the year.

The situation was not made easy with the fact that their mother had been struck down by an arthritis problem and it was their father who used to meet her medical expenses, leaving them with tough financial challenges to overcome.

After picking out the moving story, a team from SportPesa made a visit to her village in Maili Saba in Nakuru County and spread some Christmas cheer by throwing a party for them synonymous with Kenyan families during the festive period.

“2023 has not been easy for me and my family, so when SportPesa asked for a story of how the year has been, I just thought to try my luck.

Mom has been sick the whole year, and at the start of the year we lost our dad. From that point it got even tougher for us because we are 4 kids, but it is our dad who used to cater for our mum’s medical expenses.

I am the firstborn and I have been trying to just find a way of battling through, but it has not been easy at all,” Nyambura told SportPesa.

The visit from SportPesa gave Nyambura’s family some reason to smile over the Christmas period, easing some slight burden off their shoulders ahead of a 2024 they hope will turn out to be much better.

“Christmas to me has always meant enjoying the good moments and being grateful for the gift of life. SportPesa visited me with a lot of goodies, we celebrated together and had one of the best moments in my life,” she said after indulging in the Christmas treat that involved plenty of kuku kienyeji.

“I will still continue playing with SportPesa because they are truly changing lives and one day I believe they will change my life, this is just the start of what is to come. From SportPesa to me and my family, I just want to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy 2024,” she concluded.

The campaign saw 6 lucky winners walking away with five thousand shillings daily for 21 days with Nyambura bagging the overall prize.
