Real Madrid's players celebrate their third goal during the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final football match between Egypt's Al-Ahly and Spain's Real Madrid at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on February 8, 2023.

Real Madrid are confident they will lift a record-extending fifth FIFA Club World Cup title when they take on Al Hilal in Saturday’s final.

Madrid thrashed Al Ahly 4-1 to progress to the final, while Al Hilal edged Flamengo 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

Madrid have won four of the previous five finals at the Club World Cup, while this is Al Hilal’s appearance at the finals.

Los Blancos then had to wait 14 years before lifting the trophy for the first time after beating San Lorenzo in the 2014 final under Carlo Ancelotti.

Al Hilal qualified for the tournament as the holders of the AFC Champions League and have already bettered their fourth place finishes in 2019 and 2021.

Al Hilal are the first Arabian club to reach the competition’s finals since Al Ain in 2018.

Al-Hilal are 18-time Saudi Pro League champions and have only lost twice in their last 19 games in all competitions.

No team have won more games (10) or scored more goals (32) than Real Madrid in Club World Cup history.

Will this be a record-extending victory for the Spanish giants or can Al Hilal cause an upset and make history for the club?
