Record Kenya Premier League winners Gor Mahia host Kenya Police in a heated encounter at the Kasarani Stadium seeking revenge.

Record Kenya Premier League winners Gor Mahia are all set to host Tusker FC in the headline fixture lined up this midweek.

This is the biggest game set for Wednesday as Gor look for redemption and revenge after Tusker completed the league double over them last season.

The game comes with a lot more than bragging rights as the winner has the chance to go into the weekend at the top of the KPL table.

Gor come into the game on the back of a 1-0 victory against Nairobi City Stars that leaves them in 2nd place with 27 points.

Jonathan McKinstry’s side are a point behind league leaders Nzoia Sugar, who will be away at Kariobangi Sharks with both matches kicking off simultaneously.

Tusker on the other hand are without a win in their last 3 games and were held to a 1-1 draw by Sharks last Saturday.

Following that run of three games without victory, the brewers have dropped to 4th place with 25 points but head coach Robert Matano is optimistic ahead of the clash.

“They are a good team but we are prepared for the game on Wednesday. We picked up six points against them last season and we are confident we can win this one as well,” he stated.

Gor have scored 7 goals in their last 5 games and have only conceded once, but have been overly dependent on their in-form striker Benson Omala.

Omala is the top scorer in the Kenya Premier League with 10 goals and already expressed his intent to win the coveted Golden Boot Award this season.
