SportPesa’s blog has a look at the hottest games that feature in this week’s Mega Jackpot.

SOUTHAMPTON vs CRYSTAL PALACE

The Saints come into the game in 13th place with 40 points and are looking to get back to winning ways when they host Palace.

Palace on the other hand are just a place below their opponents with 38 points.

Neither side is in clear threat of being relegated but they have only won one game in their last 5 matches.

The visitors have not beaten Southampton in the league since 2020 and this will be an uphill task when they visit St. Mary’s on Saturday.

They aren’t known to be high-scoring teams and this isn’t expected to be any different but Southampton are tipped to edge them.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs BRIGHTON

Wolves are still seeking a respectable finish to ensure that they will play in Europe next season as they sit in 8th place with 49 points.

They have suffered back to back 1-0 defeats against Burnley and Newcastle United prior to this encounter.

Their visitors are also winless in their last two games and are in 11th place with 41 points.

A win for Brighton would see them jump three places into ninth, but their last win against Wolves dates back to 2018.

A record 11 matches between these two teams have ended in a draw and this one is most likely to end in a stalemate as well.

BLACKBURN vs BOURNEMOUTH

With Fulham already promoted back to the English Premier League, Bournemouth are eager to seal a second-place Championship finish.

The visitors are currently in 2nd with 78 points but they have two games in hand.

Blackburn shrugged off a hapless four-match winless run to beat Preston 4-1 on Monday to jump up to 7th place with 66 points.

Bournemouth boast the best defensive record in the English second tier, conceding just 36 goals in 42 matches.

The hosts won the reverse fixture in December by two goals to nil and will be keen to complete the league double.

Both sides have only won one game in their last 5 and this one has the billing to be a draw.

ATHLETIC BILBAO vs ATLETICO MADRID

With only 5 games left to be played in La Liga, Atletico can still finish in 2nd place and that will be heavy on their minds.

They are currently in 4th place with 61 points, two shy of Barcelona and Sevilla in second and third respectively.

Bilbao on the other hand remain in 8th with 48 points despite a hard-fought 3-2 win against Cadiz last time out.

Despite Atletico holding the advantage with 25 wins from the 45 games played between the two, they lost the reverse fixture 2-1 at home in January.

Both teams do not have major injury concerns and with what’s at stake, they could indeed play out to a stalemate.

EMPOLI vs TORINO

The home team have only managed one win in their last 5 games, leaving them in 14th with 37 points.

Torino on the other hand are in 11th with 43 points and are currently enjoying a four-match unbeaten streak in Serie A.

The reverse fixture in December ended in 2-2 draw and the visitors have not mustered a victory against their opponents since 2018.

Empoli are hoping to make it two wins on the bounce which will amount to only a 10th win of the 2021/22 Serie A campaign.

There is not much separating these two sides on paper and the home team may just battle to a slim win on the day.
