Antonio Conte’s Inter will be scratching their heads in search for a win on Wednesday night, especially after they failed to pile pressure on Juventus after a 2-2 draw against Roma over the weekend.

Inter remain in second place on the Serie A table, 8 points behind the league leaders with four matches remaining in the 2019/20 season.

A win for 12th place Fiorentina will see them jump into the top 10 and here is the lowdown ahead of the match.

What time does Inter vs Fiorentina start?

The game is scheduled to kick off at 10:45 pm Kenyan time at the San Siro.

Inter vs Fiorentina team news

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku came off the bench to score against Roma after recovering from an injury and is expected to return to the starting line-up. Meaning Alexis Sanchez drops back onto the bench.

Ex Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is also expected to start for Conte’s charges.

For the visitors, the only changes should see Pietro Terracciano start in goal due to a back injury to Bartłomiej Drągowski. Patrick Cutrone returns to the starting XI to partner Alfred Duncan.

Inter vs Fiorentina head to head

There is never too much to separate these two sides but Fiorentina have not managed a league win against Inter since an enthralling 5-4 victory in April 2017.

In the last 5 meetings, Inter have won twice, both 2-1 scorelines with the remaining three games ending in 1-1, 3-3 and 1-1 draws respectively.

Inter vs Fiorentina current form

Inter have only lost once in their last five matches, a shock 1-2 home defeat to Bologna and have since won twice and drawn another two games.

Fiorentina come into the game on a better run of form, not losing a single game in their last 5, since back to back defeats at the hands of Lazio and Sassuolo.

Inter vs Fiorentina prediction

Judging by the recent past and the outcomes of the last couple matches between these two sides, Inter have what it takes to edge their opponents but Fiorentina have proven that they cannot be written off completely.

And with a better run of form on their resume, Fiorentina may just upset Inter and force them to play out to a draw.
