The Belarus Premier League continues this weekend, with a full fixture schedule to mark the fourth matchday of the new season.

The action starts with newly-promoted Belshina travelling Neman Grodno on Friday afternoon. The away side are routed to the bottom of the table, and are the only side yet to win a point this season. The task at hand this weekend will be a tough one.

Neman Grodno have had an indifferent start, and have very much found familiar ground at mid-table .With a win, draw and defeat so far, their defensive displays have been eye-catching and nobody has conceded less than the one-goal they have shipped so far this season.

The headline fixture of the weekend sees early pace-setters Energetyk-BGU travel to Torpedo BelAZ. The Minsk-based table-toppers narrowly avoided a relegation play-off last term, but have sprinted out of the traps this season with a 100% record that boasts wins over BATE Borisov, Ruh Brest and in-form city rivals Minsk.

Freescoring Energetyk-BGU have already registered six goals this term, and with three of those goals, young Uzbekistan striker Jasurbek Yaxshiboev currently leads the top goalscorer charts. Yaxshiboev will be looking to add to that tally against a Torpedo side that were well-beaten by Dinamo Minsk last time out.

Belarus’ most decorated club BATE Borisov have got off to a shocker this season, with two defeats in their opening three league games. BATE also lost the opening leg of their Belarus Cup semi-final to Slavia Mozyr this week. Their problems may continue when they visit Minsk on Saturday.

Elsewhere, reigning champions Dinamo Brest will also be keen to rediscover past form when they take on Isloch on Sunday. Isloch made a very strong start to the season with successive 1-0 wins over Neman Grodno and Smolevichy-STI and they’ll be relying on Momo Yasane and Alexsandr Makas to continue their goalscoring heroics to claim a scalp over the champions this weekend.
