As the football league in the Kenyan top flight goes past the halfway point of the season, the top scorers list is not as close as many would expect.
Tusker FC remain in charge of the table with 38 points after 18 games, followed closely by KCB FC and AFC Leopards who both have 36 points.
Mathare United remain rooted to the bottom of the table with a meagre 8 points, having only won once the entire season.
Vihiga United occupy the other relegation spot and Western Stima are a place above them in 15th place with 13 points, both teams winning only twice thus far.
There have been plenty of outstanding performers and the top scorers list looks like this as of now.
ERIC KAPAITO (14) – Kariobangi Sharks FC
The striker has always shown his prowess in front of goal and leads the standings after bagging an impressive 14 goals in 18 games.
No doubt he has been a focal point in the Sharks attack, guiding them to their current fifth place on the table with 31 points.
ELVIS RUPIA (12) – AFC Leopards SC
The former Nzoia Sugar striker is responsible for 60% of the goals Leopards have scored this season.
His 12 goals have seen his side rise to the top three in the standings, keeping alive their hopes of winning a first league title in 23 years.
LAWRENCE JUMA (9) – Sofapaka FC
Juma is proving to be arguably the signing of the season after his switch from record Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC.
The dynamic midfielder has scored 9 out of the 20 goals scored this season, including the solitary goal in all-important 1-0 win against title-contenders KCB.
HENRY MEJA (8) – Tusker FC
There is no doubt that the entire brewers squad are in top form, hence their command of the KPL standings.
Though the standout performer has definitely been Henry Meja, with his 8 goals and 4 assists proving instrumental for Robert Matano’s charges.
WILLIAM WADRI (7) – Bandari FC
After leading the Bandari scoring charts last season, the explosive winger looks to be on course to take control of the dockers once again.
They are currently in sixth place on the log and if his form can remain constant, they can challenge for one of the top 3 spots.
JACKSON MACHARIA (6) – Tusker FC
KEVIN KIMANI (5) – Wazito FC
DANIEL OTIENO (5) – Mathare United
GABRIEL WANDERA (5) – Nzoia Sugar FC
DERRICK OTANGA (5) – KCB FC
