Juventus quest for a ninth consecutive Serie A title took a slight dent after a 4-2 loss to AC Milan on Tuesday night, but they still maintain a seven point lead over second-place Lazio.
It does not seem likely that anyone will topple Maurizio Sarri’s charges with 7 games left to play and Atalanta as well have all but secured a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Here is every detail ahead of the Saturday night clash.
What time does Juventus vs Atalanta start?
The match is set to kick off at 10:45 pm at the Allianz Stadium.
Juventus vs Atalanta team news
Giorgio Chiellini, Merih Demiral and Alex Sandro remain unavailable for Sarri due to injuries. Sami Khedira also is a doubt but the return of Matthijs de Ligt and Paulo Dybala after the duo missed out on the Milan game due to suspension, is set to boost the Italian champions.
Atalanta do not have any injury worries ahead of the clash and their great form makes for an intense battle.
Juventus vs Atalanta head to head
In their last five meetings, Juventus have won twice with a similar number of games resulting in a stalemate as Atalanta managed only one victory.
Atalanta’s last win against the Turin giants was a 3-0 whitewash in January 2019 courtesy of a Duvan Zapata brace and a goal from Timothy Castagne.
Juventus vs Atalanta current form
The home side have lost two in their last 10 games, the most recent being the 4-2 loss to AC Milan.
Despite the defeat, Juventus have won the remaining eight and a home defeat does not seem attainable, especially at this juncture of the season.
The visitors however boast a better run of form with their 2-0 victory against Sampdoria on Wednesday being their ninth consecutive league win. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side seem to be on course to equal their best ever third-place finish they achieved last season.
Juventus vs Atalanta prediction
There is no doubt that this will be a cracking encounter and the most probable outcome is both teams to score a goal at least.
Juventus do have more at stake and the return of key players should be enough of a boost for them to grind out a narrow victory but Atalanta are on a great run and could disappoint the home side.
