Cruz FC took charge of the Wazee Pamoja League standings after matchday 4 as they rallied to beat Jambo FC 3-1 last Sunday at Camp Toyoyo.
Former Tusker FC and Harambee Stars international Osborne Monday’s Cruz FC continued their unbeaten start to the league, making it four wins from their opening 4 matches.
The league, which runs for nine months with matches played every Sunday, resumed last week after the sports ban due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic was lifted in the country.
Friendzone FC are in second place also with 12 points and are still unbeaten as well, making the race for top honors a difficult one.
They only trail Cruz on goal difference after they too were 3-2 winners against Paradiso FC on Sunday.
Paradiso had been in command of the competitive league table since the start of the 2021 season but their first loss of the season relegated them to third place.
Greenyard FC come in a close fourth on the log, trailing Paradiso only on goal difference, after they battled to a 4-2 victory over lowly 5Q FC.
In other matches played on Sunday, Paris FC were 2-0 winners over Tipples FC whilst Teezers got their first win of the campaign with a 2-1 victory against 227 FC.
Aside from providing a place for people to come together and play with fans from all walks of life in attendance to cheer on their particular teams, the Wazee Pamoja League, gives former professional footballers the chance to still feel as though they are part of the beautiful game.
With only four rounds of matches played thus far, the league is expected to run all year until the final round scheduled to take place in November.
