Struggling Tottenham Hotspur have the chance to turn their fortunes around when they host Crystal Palace in a rare Thursday evening English Premier League encounter.

Tottenham are without a win in their last 10 PL matches, leaving them languishing in 16th place with 29 points – just four above the dreaded relegation zone. A defeat here would be a fifth consecutive one for Igor Tudor’s side.

Coincidentally, Spurs last Premier League win was last December against Crystal Palace. Archie Gray got the only goal in a slim 1-0 victory at Selhurst Park.

Both sides are coming off identical 2-1 defeats in their last league games. Spurs losing to Fulham at Craven Cottage, while Palace blew an early lead to lose to the resurgent Manchester United.

Things are way past critical for Spurs now who are literally at risk of relegation if they keep up their poor and inconsistent run of form. They have conceded 12 goals in their last five matches – getting just a point.

With only seven wins from 28 games played this season, Tottenham are on course to have their worst season in the Premier League for the last 40 years.

Can Spurs bounce back to complete the league double over Palace here? Or will Palace inflict a fifth straight defeat on their struggling London neighbors?

We have a look at all key stats ahead of the clash and offer our predicted outcome.

Tottenham vs Palace team news

There is no team in the topflight that has more first team injuries than Spurs. This could be another reason for their abhorrent form.

Destiny Udogie is the latest in that list as well as Randal Kolo Muani who was substituted against Fulham with a strain. This means that Richarlison and Mathys Tel will be introduced into the starting XI.

There are not many other changes that can be made by the new manager Tudor – with Joao Palhinha and Yves Bissouma both retaining their spots in the heart of the midfield.

Meanwhile, Palace are not expected to make any changes from the side that lost to United at the weekend. Maxence Lacroix scored his fourth goal of the season in that defeat and will be at the heart of defense alongside Jaydee Canvot and Chris Richards.

Ismaila Sarr has been electric in recent weeks and will retain his starting role as well as former Spurs winger Brennan Johnson – both in support of Jurgen Strand-Larsen up front.

Tottenham vs Palace head-to-head and current form

With four consecutive league defeats, Spurs are currently the team in the worst form in all the land. They are still to register a win this year, with time running out – staring relegation in the face.

Their opponents have lost twice in their last five matches but have however booked their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Conference League in that time. Palace have also won two games in that run – against Wolves and Zrinjski in Europe.

Spurs have the edge in recent head-to-head matches, winning three of the last five compared to Palace’s two victories.

There has not been a stalemate in this fixture since 2020.

Tottenham vs Palace prediction

With the form they are in, Spurs are not expected to have it easy here despite having home advantage. Their lack of goals and inconsistency in attack has made them an easy target, with Palace set to exploit that.

Palace have kept two clean sheets in their last five PL matches but are expected to concede at least one here, with the pressure increasing for a first Spurs win this calendar year.
