In a hectic week in the English Premier League, we can look forward to plenty of midweek action as league leaders Arsenal look to maintain their stay at the top.

The Gunners edged their London rivals Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates on Sunday to go five points clear of closest challengers Manchester City. Arsenal have played one game more than Pep Guardiola’s side.

The top two are not in action until Wednesday night, with teams in the bottom half of the table highlighting Tuesday night’s fixtures.

Wolves remain bottom of the league with 13 points despite getting their second win of the season with a stunning 2-0 home victory over Aston Villa on Friday. Burnley are second from bottom with 19 points and need a win to keep their survival hopes alive.

Here we have a look at all four games scheduled for Tuesday night and offer our predicted outcomes.

Bournemouth vs Brentford – 10:30PM

Two teams on improved runs of form will battle it out at the Vitality Stadium, both fighting for a spot in Europe next season.

Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last eight league matches and are coming off a 1-1 draw against Sunderland on Saturday. Their last PL defeat was a 3-2 loss to Arsenal on January 3.

They face a Brentford side who edged struggling Burnley 4-3 in a dramatic encounter at Turf Moor over the weekend. The three points lifted them into seventh place with 43 points, just two outside the top six.

The visitors have enjoyed dominant success in this fixture, winning all of the last five head-to-head encounters. Kevin Schade scored a hat-trick the last time these sides met earlier this season, inspiring Brentford to a 4-1 win.

The German will be key to the Bees attack here with a win on the road not being far out of reach. Brentford have won their last four games on the road in all competitions.

Everton vs Burnley – 10:30PM

Fresh off a crucial 3-2 away win at Newcastle over the weekend, Everton are looking to make it back-to-back wins when they host Burnley at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Toffees who moved up to eighth place with 40 points.

Burnley were not as fortunate despite staging a mighty comeback in their defeat to Brentford. They came back from the goals down to level matters at 3-3, before Mikel Damsgaard got a dramatic stoppage time winner.

The Clarets have 19 points from their opening 28 games and need a steady run of results to keep their survival hopes alive.

Historically, this fixture is not particularly known for its goals but this could prove different with all that is at stake. The reverse fixture resulted in a barren draw.

Leeds United vs Sunderland – 10:30PM

There was nothing to separate these two sides when they last met in December, the game resulting in a 1-1 stalemate. The circumstances are different now and the result could be as well.

The hosts lost 1-0 to Man City at the weekend, while Sunderland battled to a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.

Leeds are six points above the relegation zone in 15th place – while the Black Cats are just outside the top 10 in 12th with 37 points. However, Leeds have not lost to Sunderland since a 1-0 defeat in 2023.

With respectable draws against Aston Villa and Chelsea in recent weeks, Leeds have a slight edge heading into this encounter and are tipped to avoid defeat at Elland Road.

Wolves vs Liverpool  – 11:15PM

Wolves look a brand new side with two wins in their last five matches, coming off an impressive 2-0 win against Aston Villa. Joao Gomes and Rodrigo Gomes both on target for the hosts.

Despite their resurgence, they remain rooted to the bottom with 13 points and with fading hope of playing Premier League football next season.

They welcome a Liverpool side looking for their fifth consecutive win in all competitions. The reds hammered West Ham 5-2 on Saturday and are full of confidence before traveling to the league’s bottom club.

Liverpool have won their last six games against Wolves, including a 2-1 home win in the reverse fixture last December. Florian Wirtz and Ryan Gravenberch on target for the reds in that match, with Santiago Bueno getting the consolation for Wolves.
