Kenya Police FC winger Mohamed Bajaber has lauded Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Bajaber, who is one of the local based players that have been included in the 23-member squad for the qualifiers against Gabon and Gambia, has described McCarthy as a top tactician.
According to the former Nairobi City Stars player, the South African citizen has what it takes to take Harambee Stars to the next level.
“I feel like he is a top coach. I am glad to have been called up because it is an honour to play for your country, the national team. I hope I can carry on from here and stay humble always,” commented Bajaber.

When asked about his experience working with McCarthy during Harambee Stars’ first training session on Wednesday last week, Bajaber stated that it was an excellent one.
“To be fair, it was light the first session, but it progressively got harder. It was a good experience.
Really good drills and good insights from a top professional like McCarthy’s mind. It was lovely and I really enjoyed it,” he said
Bajaber will be seeking to take his great club form to the national team should he be given a chance to play in the two matches.
The 22-year-old scored two goals over the weekend to help his employees secure a vital 3-1 victory over SportPesa-sponsored side Murang’a Seal.
The win ensured Kenya Police FC maintained their position at the top of the FKFPL table with 45 points, three more than the defending champions Gor Mahia FC, who have a game in hand.
Bajaber ended by divulging that although the pressure of switching from a club that is fighting relegation to the one that is in contention for the league title is different, he is adapting pretty quickly.
The player, who was born in Nairobi, will fight for the starting position in the Harambee Stars team against several other big names.
These midfielders include Duke Abuya, Richard Odada, Ismael Gonzalez, Anthony Akumu, Timothy Ouma, Ben Stanley Omondi and Eric Johana.
