Legends by Nondies

The Legends by Nondies have announced their final squad for the upcoming Dubai 7s International Vets category set to take place from November 29 to December 1, 2024.

The Kenyan legends have been placed in Group B alongside Dubai’s Gymnation, Racing Foundation of Britain, BYE and Richmond Swansea Heavies.

The squad will be led by Oscar Osir as the head coach and Eddie Omondi as the team captain.

Notable players in the squad include the Kenya 7s all-time try scorer Collins Injera and former Kenya 15s captain Wilson Kopondo. 

Re-elected Kenya Harlequins chairman Victor Sudi, former Kenya sevens backrower Edwin “Pablo” Machanje and former Shujaa star Ben Nyambu have also made the squad. Retired Kenya 15s fullback Darwin Mukidza has also been included in the travelling squad.

Other players selected include former Uganda Cranes Sevens captain Michael Okorach.

However, notable absentees from the squad include former Kenya Sevens skipper Humphrey Kayange and Lavin Asego who were not included.

The Legends by Nondies retained their regional title after beating Uganda 24-15 at the RFUEA Grounds and 26-15 in the first leg played in Kampala during the Legends Cup in August.

They also played UK Triton on November 12, 2024, at the RFUEA Grounds, winning 19-14 in a friendly match.

Kenya Legends reached the semi-finals of the 2022 Dubai Sevens and the quarterfinals in 2023.
